This week's #1 · real pick

Unsloth

An open-source library that makes LLM fine-tuning 2× faster and cuts VRAM use by 70%.

Why it's rising

Demand for local fine-tuning is surging; several open models shipped same-day support, and weekly new contributors hit a record.

Investor angle

Sits on the most cost-sensitive curve — GPU spend. If a cloud vendor integrates it, distribution scales exponentially.

How it works

We read all of GitHub, every day

1

Scan the whole network

Every day we sweep new and active GitHub repos, pulling raw signals: stars, commits, contributors, issues.

2

AI analyzes each one

We model the trend and write an AI brief for every candidate: what it does, why it's rising now, where the risks are.

3

Delivered to you daily

We filter the noise and rank only the repos worth your time, deliver them by email, and keep a member archive on-site for the full history.

Not a description — the real thing. Below is the free portion of this week's issue. See the quality for yourself.

marimo

A reactive notebook in pure Python — reproducible, runnable as a script, deployable as an app.

Why it's rising

7-day star growth is accelerating; several AI engineers recommend it as a Jupyter replacement and data teams are adopting it fast.

Investor angle

Hits a real pain point in the data-science toolchain; growth is word-of-mouth, not marketing — community stickiness is an early signal.

★ 12.8k ↑ 1.8k 7d 2 yr Python
Biome

A Rust-based frontend toolchain — one tool to replace ESLint + Prettier.

Why it's rising

Migration stories are spreading, performance benchmarks are being reshared by large projects, and fast issue turnaround is earning trust.

Investor angle

Targets the long-term consolidation of frontend tooling; once a replacement crosses the tipping point, it captures mindshare quickly.

★ 16.9k ↑ 1.1k 7d 3 yr Rust
Tabby

A self-hostable AI coding assistant that runs on an internal network without sending code out.

⚠ Data anomaly
Why it's rising

Data-compliance discussion is heating up; multiple enterprise teams shared internal-deployment write-ups and enterprise-grade issues are rising.

Investor angle

Hits enterprises' hard requirement for code privacy; the self-hosted angle is naturally suited to paid and commercial conversion.

★ 19.2k ↑ 980 7d 2 yr Rust
Maccy

A minimal, fast clipboard manager for macOS — open source and free.

Why it's rising

Recommended by several productivity newsletters in the same window; downloads pushed stars up sharply within a week.

Investor angle

A consumer tool with a weak monetization path; better as an ecosystem signal than an investment target — keep on watch.

FAQ

Where does the data come from? +

Entirely from the public GitHub API — stars, commits, contributors and issues. We only aggregate, model and interpret; we use no private data.

How often is it updated? +

Scanning runs daily. Free users get a Top 5 digest every Monday; Pro users get a full Top 20 brief every day, plus real-time alerts on abnormal acceleration.

How do I activate Pro? +

There is no third-party checkout yet. Use an invite code to activate instantly, or send your email after manual payment and I will activate it from the admin side.

How is this different from GitHub Trending? +

Trending only shows today's heat — by the time something lands there it's often too late. We surface early projects that aren't blown up yet but are growing abnormally, and explain why they matter.

How is paid content delivered? Do I need to log in? +

Pro members can sign in with a magic link to read the full Top 20 and archive on-site. Email delivery can be connected later with a domestic provider.
